Value Chain Analysis of Different Types of Distribution Packaging for Fresh Fish Fillets
Packaging systems and packaging materials are usually developed to fulfill a certain function underpredefined conditions in the value chain. A Value Chain Assessment gives a holistic perspective on optimizationoptions for packaging and distribution system for fish fillets. Value Chain Assessments include life cycledata for processes, production of packaging materials, impacts on transport, converting to final packaging solutionsand treatment of packaging waste resources are included (material, economic and energy data). Thispaper focuses on methods for and experiences from comparative assessment of packaging systems and distributionof fish fillets by using Value Chain Assessment.
