Application Research on Easy-to-Open Tape for Corrugated Cartons
(0) A novel tear tape was obtained in this research.This kind of tear tape was applied in corrugatedcardboard manufacturing industry.Through embedding the tear tape into corrugated cardboard structure, thendragging the tape, the corrugated cardboard was detached in two parts.The whole process implemented thefunction of easy-to-open to corrugated cartons.Structure of the tear tape consisted of backing materials,adhesive and release paper. Acrylic continuous fibers were utilized as backing materials, and coated withacrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA). This PSA was synthesized with vinyl acetate (VAC), acrylic acid(AA), butyl acrylic (BA), ammonium persulfate (APS) and other raw materials. Application by blade coating,fiber backing materials, PSA and release paper were composited together.Tested the tensile strength and tearstrength of different flute types of tear tape corrugated cardboard, and the results satisfied the requirements ofeasy-to-open technique
