Packaging Industry Development and Lifecycle Assessment Research in China
This paper outlines the status quo of packaging industry in China at the beginning. Then the establishmentof Chief Package Fundamental Database is discussed. Thirdly, a research on pre-mentionedlifecycle assessment of package is conducted under the principles of energy saving and emission reduction,which includes building an assessing model, phrases and overall assessing of package products, developingan WEB based LCA database as well as a service-oriented application platform, which have been verifiedby national key projects. Fourthly, a research on the Evaluation system of Green Packaging assessment aswell as the establishment of the Hierarchy System of Green Packaging is included. Fifthly, a research onsubstitution strategy of packages and the content of the catalogue of materials to be recommended, restricted,eliminated are introduced. Finally, a proposal of further research and application activities is presented.
