Revival of an ancient sports activity-research on the traditional catapult sport in China
Introduction: In order to protect and inherit the Chinese traditional sports treasure, excavating the Chinese traditional sports project has already become the multitudinous scholars mutual recognition. It has made a lot of art which was near lost step into the road of survival. The Chinese tradition catapult sport is one of this art. The Catapult Sport is most unique hidden weapon in the Chinese martial arts, and it is an ancient stunt of martial arts with long-standing Chinese traditional culture. It is also a precious intangible cultural heritage. Through reorganizing the source of Chinese traditional crossbow technique and analyzing its technical method and the content, we can explore the characteristic value which it contains, and provide the theory basis for popularizing it in the National Fitness Programme.
