Development and reform of pe teachers post training under the influence of teacher-education integration in China

Introduction: As a result of the ever changing social demand for education, the current PE education model operating in China could no longer fit with the current trend in international PE education, which requires openness, professionalism, integration and diversity. Neither could the current model in China satisfy the demand for PE teachers from the reform of basic education. Education for PE teachers in China has been largely confined to pre-employment stage and education qualification. PE teachers post-employment has not been given enough attention. Therefore, the aim of the current study was to enhance the professional development of PE teachers by examining the current position training for PE teachers in China. An education model for PE teachers was proposed which would meet the current trend in PE teaching.
