Development and implementation of a digital management system for physical education at universities
Introduction: In recent years, traditional management system for physical education has been difficult to meet the demands of the rapid development of universities in terms of their sizes and the drastic increase of student numbers. Physical education is facing challenges such as the increasing teaching load for PE teachers and a serious shortage in sports facilities. However, due to the unique features that physical education and physical testing part are normally delivered outdoor and have very high mobility, nowadays, PE teachers at most universities in China are still relying on the traditional way of assessments, recording results of individual tests manually and working out the overall results manually, even though the entire society is striding towards digital society. In this study, effort was made to develop and implement a digitalized PE teaching management system, which would contribute to the transition of the traditional PE management system to a completely new era of digital management system. It will not only help improve the efficiency of PE teaching management, but also contribute to the reforming of physical education system at universities.
