The effects of competition stress on cortisol, secretory immunoglobin and amylase activities in saliva in elite archers

Introduction: To observe the concentration of salivary cortisol, secretory immunoglobin A (sIgA) and salivary amylase activities on the elite archers during the competition; the relation of REST-Q questionnaire score and the above-mentioned objective indicators, rank of the games. Methods: 24 elite archers in National Olympic archery training team attended the experiments in pre-training period (3 days) , 8 elite athletes for competition period. During the pre-training period (3 days) and competition period (pre-competition day 5 to competition day 2.) of the different games for 7 days, collected saliva samples on 19: 30 p. m. every day, filled in REST-Q questionnaire in testing day 1 of each round, recorded ranking, respectively.
