Grey correlation analysis of the race results of decathletes in the 29 th Olympic Games and the 11th National Games
Introduction: The decathlon is the comprehensive athletics event which is composed by several single track and field events. The purposes of this study were to run the grey correlation analysis about the various single event result and total results of the top 8 decathletes in the 29 th Olympic Games as well as the 11th National Games, calculate the correlation of various single event result and total results, as well as the proportion which various single event result within the total results, understand the athletic level of the current Chinese decathlon, compare the disparity between our country s level and that of the rest of the world, make the theoretical support and reference for the decathlon training, improve the development of decathlon in China.
