Forage and afforest — used germplasm resource —Tephrosia Candida
Tephrosia Candida DC. Is a good kind of leguminosae forage in subtropical areas. Research on its subtoxicity to mice and rabbits proved it is safe for rabbits. The feeding experiment results showed,the crude protein content of T. Candida in initial bloom stage is 18. 29 %. The 20 % T. Candida powdery group is the best group, which had the best palatability, feed intake of which increased 9.08 % than the control one, had the highest of daily weight gain, 21.52 ± 2.07g/day, the most little feed/meat rate, 4. 03:l, the highest slaughtering rate,60. 78 %,the highest economic benefit,is 2. 14 times than that of the control group, which demonstrated that T. Candida has potential to be used as both fresh and powder forage in national country. Beside, it could fix nitrogen from air, improve soil fertility, promote water and soil conservation, and maintain plant community stability.
