Analysis of Genetic Diversity of Wild Dichondra repens from Southwest China by Morphological and ISSR Markers
Genetic diversity of 23 native Dichondra repens from southwest China was revealed using Inter -simple sequence repeat (ISSR)markers. A relatively large genetic diversity was detected among the samples based on estimation of DNA products amplified from 14 selected ISSR primers with high polymorphism. The results showed that distinct differences exist among 23 varieties. The rate of polymorphism was 94.9% from 138 amplified bands, with the similarity coefficient varying from 0. 211 to 0. 871 and showed a Shannon index of 0.3685. Analysis of cluster showed that all the 23 accessions could be distinguished by ISSR markers and divided into 4 groups according to UPGMA method (They could be divided into four groups at GS=0.43 level with a Jaccards genetic similarity matrix and a dendrogram for Dichondra repens). The ecological characteristics and external morphological diversity of native D. repens are studied. All the germplasm resources can be divided into 4 morphological types by the cluster analysis. The duster analysis showed that the results of clustering which based on the coefficient of genetic similarity are similar for the morphologic characteristics.
