Similar simulation and numerical analysis on roof moving rules in steep-inclined thick coal seam

Take example for 14 coal seam of Da’anshan mine, a mining work-face model with a scale ratio of 1:100 was found in lab on Geometry Similitude Rule(GSR), model strength indexes of coal seam and roof and floor、 excavation space and velocity are ascertained on Similitude Rule. Moving rules of roof in steep-inclined thick coal seam with working face moving forwards is researched. Synchronously using RFPA numerical calculation software variation rule of stress of roof and floor with working face moving forwards is simulated. Research results indicate that there exists first weighting and periodic weighting with roof caving, first weighting step distance is about 35m and periodic weighting step distance is about 12m, but strata behavior is not obvious during periodic weighting. On the other hand, with working face moving forwards not only roof appears falling, but also floor can be failure with low depth. Research results can give support to optimum design of flexible shield support and layout of floor haulage roadway.
