A Compact Microstrip Ultra-wideband Band-pass Filter with Quarter-Wave Short-Circuited Stubs
A novel, compact, and highly selective ultra-wideband (UWB) band-pass filter (BPF) with a fractional bandwidth (FBW) of about 110% was developed on a microstrip line and presented in this letter for use in wireless communication applications. The basic filter is composed three short-circuited stubs and semi-circles were used to reduce the size. The proposed component is fabricated and the measurements have shown an insertion loss below 0.5dB, return loss below 18dB in the passband and a good stopband rejection level which is higher than 20dB from 12.5 to 20GHz, group-delay variation under 0.1ns.
