An Improved Compact L-Band Bandpass Filter with Cross-coupling in LTCC Technology

An improved embedded compact L-band broadband bandpass filter with cross-coupling in Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramic (LTCC) technology is present in this paper. Strong capacitive couplings between the five-layer coupled stripline resonator structure is introduced to miniature the broadband filter. The filter is in seven-stage of Chebyshevtype and with a cross-coupling structure between the first and the fifth resonator, which produces a transmission zero in the stop band. The simulation response exhibits an insertion loss of 0.9 dB and a return loss of better than 13 dB of the passband with a relative bandwidth of 50%. The compact size of the improved filter is only 9.5x6x0.8 mm3.
