Asynchronous Trigger Reception Algorithm for Low-power UWB System
A novel UWB pulse reception algorithm namely asynchronous trigger is presented, aimed at realizing a low-power and low-complexity system. Based on theoretical derivation and simulation results, when receiving UWB pulse signal with the asynchronous trigger algorithm at bit-error probability of 10-5, the systems processing energy decreases by 10dB at the cost of signals transmission energy increasing by about 0.5dB only. A transceiver based on the proposed reception algorithm is fabricated in CMOS technology, the experimental results also proves that the asynchronous trigger reception algorithm can lead to low-power lowcomplexity UWB systems implementation.
