Design of dual band notched UWB antenna of harpoon shape
A novel and compact ultra-wideband (UWB) microstrip-fed monopole antenna having dual band notch characteristic is presented. By using a modified U-slot and a spurline structure on the proposed antenna, two notched bands of 550MHz (3.65GHz-4. 2GHz) and 900MHz (5.2GHz-6.1GHz) are obtained. The voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) of the designed antenna is less than 2.0 in the frequency band between 3.1 and 10.6 GHz while showing the band notched character in the frequency band of 5.1to 6.1 GHz and 3.6GHz-4.3GHz. The miniaturization of the antenna has been achieved. And the size of the proposed antenna is 30mm×26mm×1mm.
