A New Arithmetic of Ship Motion by Draw-wire Length
In this paper a measuring device of draw-wire type was designed for ship motion measurement in physical model test cm ship mooring. And then a new arithmetic was proposed for the calculation of six-freedom ship motion. Six draw-wire displacement sensors of the device were fixed above the ship model and pulled when the ship model was moving. According to the position of ship model and wire length variation of the sensors, six-freedom ship motion can be calculated by the arithmetic. It is indicated that calculated result of six-freedom accords well with measurement result by the device.
