Determination of Discharge Coefficient for Oblique Side Weirs Using the Partial Least Square Method

In this paper, oblique side weir with asymmetric geometry has been experimentally studied. Modification to the geometry of ordinary oblique side weirs causes an increase in the effectiveness of the length of weir as being more in line with the streamlines. Based on the results of 200 model tests, a non linear relation has been presented for discharge coefficient in terms of geometric and hydraulic parameters through using the partial least square method. The results show that this kind of weir is more efficient than the ordinary oblique and normal rectangular side weirs.
