The Application of Two-phase Flow Numerical Simulation in Fengman Dam Overall Treatment Project
A new dam would be built 120m downstream of the old dam in accordance with the requirements of the overall treatment project of Fengman Hydropower Station. The water-air two-phase flow 2-D unsteady numerical simulation of ski-jump energy dissipation of the old dam from upstream to plunge pool is established by the combination of VOF method, κ-E turbulent model, PISO algorithm, structured and unstructured grid. The simulation vividly shows the impact situation on the new dam, which gives basis for the erosion experiment and supplies good guidance on the construction of the new dam during the flood season. Whats more, it provides important reference value on the future renovation projects of more old dams.
