Investigation of an Artificial Island on Soft Ground Improved by SCP by Means of Centrifuge Modeling Test
A centrifuge model test was performed to study the behavior of an artificial island on soft ground improved by SCP using lattice type steel plate piles. The test included 2 phases, the fist concerned behavior of artificial island from its formation till excavation and the second studied the long-term deformation behavior of artificial island after its completion. PIV (Particle Image Velocimetry) method was used on flight to analyze the soil movement on the cross-section of the model.
