Similarity Law of Physical Model on Air Entrainment to Alleviate Cavitations

There are water flow and air flow in air-entrained hydraulic model. But the similarity of air flow is often ignored in the normal-pressure model, which makes the large difference of the aeration discharge in model-prototype comparison test. Therefore, the subatmospheric experiment is conducted to make the air flow fit to the similarity law, but its very difficult to observe the test. For the similarity of discharge and concentration of entrained-air, the model experiment can ignore the similarity of aeration hole in normal pressure, and the aeration concentration can be calculated by the formula in the paper. In the cavitation model test with aeration device the cavitation and aeration discharge can be fitted to the similarity law by changing the area of air hole. And the aeration concentration is almost similar in subpressure zone where it is easy to cavitate. To satisfy similar conditions of airentrained flow, its insignificant to enlarge the model scale alone.
