The Sedimentation Effects of Dezful Regular Dam on the Power Generation of Dez Dam
Dezful regular dam was constructed at 23km downstream of Dez Dam. This dam with height of 20m regulates the released water from Dez Dam among 24 to 48 hours. According to the hydrography after 30 years operation, deposited sediment reduced its storage volume more than 40%. In this research the effect of increasing trend of sedimentation of this dam investigated on the hour power generation of Dez Dam. The result show that the decreasing of the storage volume of the Dezful regulatory dam, in addition to the decrease of the available storage capacity in the regulation of needed water for downstream consumption, it has considerable effect in the decreasing of energy production at the peak time of energy consumption.
