Model Test for Rectification Method of Pump Intake Channel

In this research project, a physical model with scale 1110 has been adopted to study the hydraulic characteristics of intake channel in APL Power Station, India. The research emphases include: velocity distribution and flow pattern along intake channel and in suction room, simulation and verification of vortex, tabling a proposal of antivortex and improving flow pattern, and so on. Through this research, two kinds of rectifying facilities including dividing columns and beams would be adopted to eliminate bad flow pattern in original scheme. Both two methods have good effect on rectifying flow state and would ensure the safety operation of CW pump, while the beams scheme should be chosen to the recommended scheme.
