Operation and Appraisal of Vertical Ship-lift at Shuikou Hydropower Station in Fujian Province

The navigation facility at Shuikou Hydropower Station, 2 X 500t vertical ship-lift, which is of wet full-balanced wire rope-hoisted type with its maximum vertical lift range of 59. 00m, is a large-sized one, ranking first among the overseas and domestic shiplifts of the kind. It is a system engineering involving multi-specialties and multi-disciplines. With the unremitting efforts of the constructors, it was finally completed and successfully put into operation. This article gives a brief presentation with respect to the operation and appraisal of the aforesaid ship-lift.
