Experimental Research of Microcystis Aeruginosa as Tracer Particle in Particle Image Velocimetry

It was verified by experimental research of the feasibility of microcystis aeruginosa as tracer particle in water flow particle image velocimetry (PIV). It was concluded by the experiment that microcystis aeruginosa has the advantage of outstanding tracing and light scattering characteristics in water flow. Besides, owing to the characteristics, microcystis aeruginosa as tracer particle in water flow showed excellent tracing effect and the entire flow field images exported by PIV system displayed high definition. In addition, microcystis aeruginosa is more affordable and easier to obtain than the traditional solid tracer particles. It can be concluded that microcystis aeruginosa as tracer particle in PIV system is an applicable substitute for the traditional solid tracer particles.
