Sample Entropy of EEG Based on Acupuncturing
Acupuncture is a time-honored oriental medicine,although acupuncture have been shown to be therapeutic butfundamental issues such as the mechanism of its treatment is stilla mystery to the humankind. The aim of this work is to analyzethe variation of neuron activity of the brain after the stimuli fromthe acupuncture. The analysis has been carried out by applyingsample entropy, which is a non-linear organization estimator.Through the calculation, the sample entropy before thestimulation of acupuncture Neiguan and Shenmen was comparedwith after the stimulation. The result shows that the sampleentropy is smaller after the stimulation of acupuncturing theacupoints Shenmen and Neiguan. It shows higher regularity ofthe EEG signal after the acupuncture compare to the signalbefore the acupuncture.
