3D internal muscle activities imaging based on multi-channel surface EMG recordings Surface EMG-based muscle activities imaging technqiue
A surface electromyography (EMG) based muscleactivities imaging (sEMG-MAI) approach has been developedusing the bioelectrical source reconstruction approach tominimally invasively reconstruct muscle activities in the threedimensional (3D) space of the periurethral muscles (includingurethral and anal sphincter, and the surrounding muscles) of thefemale pelvic floor from multi-channel intra-anal surface EMGrecordings. The sEMG-MAI approach is bes toinvestigate function of the pelvic muscles nd urethral sphincterwhich is an etiologic factor associated with stress urinaryincontinence (SUI) in women.
