Development of an acetic acid microbial biosensor for environmental monitoring
An acetic acid microbial biosensor was developed forenvironmental monitoring. The microbial biosensor consisted ofan immobilized cell membrane and an oxygen electrode. Theresults showed that the optimum pH of buffer solution was 6.48,the optimum temperature of buffer solution was 33 ℃ and theoptimum concentration of buffer solution was 0.01mol/L foracetic acids determining. The linear range was found to be from5.0 to 30 mg/L of acetic acid and the regression equation wasy=0.51x+1.66 (correlation coefficient 0.9998). 23 kind ofinterferential substances, which have the similar chemicalcharacters and molecular weights as acetic acid, were determinedin the experiment. The biosensor was found to have an extendactivity of 90 days with more than 600 determinations.
