Microsystem for On_Line Process Monitoring in Bioartificial Liver Support System
Bioartificial liver support system based on culturinghepatocytes becomes an important research field in the treatmentof acute liver failure currently. It is necessary to monitor the stateof liver cell functions during the treatment of bioartificial liversupport in order to guide clinical treatment. We designed amicrochip-based online process monitoring system for theimplementation of monitoring the activity of liver cell functionsin bioreactor. The microchip was optimized by simulationanalysis of fluid dynamics software. The results illustrate theeffect of improvement of mixing efficiency and shorteneddetection time.
