Design of a computer assisted instrument for automatic control of the pressure in cuff of catheter
The design of a new instrument for automatic controllingthe pressure in a medical cuff of catheter was introduced in thispaper. This instrument contained several main parts including singlechip microcomputer used in main control, pressure sensors, and theprogram controlling air pump etc. The pressure sensors transformedpressure signal in cuff to electrical signal, which was then transmittedto the single chip microcomputer. Pressure in cuff of catheter wasregulated by the programmable switch which was controlled by thesingle chip microcomputer. This instrument had main function ofreal-time display and maintaining the pressure in cuff of catheter atsetting range. The safety of clinical operation and accuracy ofscientific research might be improved by this new design.
