Morphological changes of chondrocytes in compressed articular cartilage using polarized light microscopy
The orientation and shape of chondrocytes incompressed articular cartilage were studied quantitatively bypolarized light microscopy (PLM) at 0.34μm pixel-resolution.The morphological changes of the cell shapes, the cellorientation, and the territorial matrix surrounding thechondrocytes in articular cartilage were quantified.
