Respiration Gating Simulated by Voxe1ised Phantom in 3D PET Imaging
Respiratory motion may result in image degradationin PET imaging. A number of gating techniques can be used tocompensate for respiratory motion. In this paper, a gatingapproach utilizing the geometric sensitivity feature of a 3D-PETscanner was presented by only the use of line of response (LOR)events. No additional hardware device systems and additionalpatient preparation are required. Simulation result demonstratesthat the geometric sensitivity gating method is able to compensaterespiratory motion.
