A Novel Coherence Diffusion Method for Vessel Enhancement
In this paper, a novel coherence diffusion method forvessel enhancement is proposed. A new structure tensorintegrating the second-order directional derivative information isdesigned, which can analyze the complex weak and ridge edgesaccurately. By combining the proposed tensor with the classicalone as complementary descriptor, this method can also detect thestrong edges simultaneously. Moreover, AOS strategy is used toimplement the numerical calculation, which is much faster thanusual approchs. Through comparing the experimental results, it is demonstrated that the new diffusion method is outstanding inpreserving the strong and weak edges of vessel precisely whileremoving noises.
