Research and realization of virtual endoscopy

Research and realization technologies of virtualendoscopy are proposed in this paper. We use boundary modeland local feature structure to realize tissue segmentation. A newefficient algorithm is presented to solve path planning based ondistance transform. As for real-time processing, a frame invirtual endoscopy is divided into near viewpoint part and farviewpoint part based on volume data characteristics in ourmethod. In the aspect of scene rendering, a ray casting algorithmbased on the boundary voxel is proposed. We can voyage invirtual endoscopy system in real time with high quality images touse these techniques.
