Amplitude Modulation Strain Noise Reduction by Displacement Field Correction
In ultrasound strain imaging, random fluctuations of the signal amplitude result in a match only occurred at certainregions from pre-and post-compression window pairs. Thisproduces amplitude modulation (AM) strain noise. In this papera new suppressing amplitude modulation method calleddisplacement filed correction (DFC) is presented. Bothsimulation and phantom experiment demonstrate that thepresented method can efficiently reduce amplitude modulatedstrain noise and achieve the considerable improvement in thestrain image quality and performance.
