A Single Image Interpolation Scheme for Enhanced Super Resolution in Bio-Medical Imaging

In this paper we illustrate a novel image interpolationmethod based on the amalgamation of bicubic interpolation and2D interpolation filter. First, bicubic interpolation algorithm isapplied interpolating pixels to create a high resolution image.Then 2D interpolation filter algorithm is applied along columnsand rows modifying the interpolated values to produce superresolution image. The second algorithm preserves edgesmoothness and refines the interpolated pixels to producevisually high quality images. The results demonstrate that ournew interpolation algorithm significantly enhances the qualityand Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) of the interpolated imagesover ICBI and iNEDI interpolation methods.
