An image-based method for real time ultrasonic microbubble concentration and velocimetry quality evaluation in Echo PIV technique

A novel imaging processing method using gray levelco-occurrence matrix (GLCM) to evaluate microbubbleconcentration in ultrasonic particle image velocimetry(echoPIV)technique is presented in this paper. The image processingmethod is used to study the optimum microbubble concentrationin Echo PIV imaging of a two dimensional blood flow field. It isfound that for the GLCM correlation values for three differentconcentrations of contrast microbubbles and the GLCM could bean effective paramenter for real time evaluating the optimalmicrobubble concentration for Echo PIV imaging.
