An Addtive Operator Splitting Method for Microscopic Image Segmentation
An addtive operator splitting(AOS) method isemployed in the geodesic active contours model for imagesegmentation. The numerical discretization scheme is semi-implicitand unconditional stable if balloon force is not employed.It overcomes the time step size restriction for explicit scheme.The method can easily be parallelized and one can gain anaccelerated convergence. The experiments show that it has agreat promising compared to the explicit scheme and makes thescheme attractive for applications such as medical imageprocessing.
