Medical Diagnosis Support System for Disease Prevention and Its Interface
This paper describes the prototype of a diagnosissupport system for preventing disease and its interface. Theparadigm shift from disease treatment to its prevention is to beadvocated. Also improving lifestyles at an early stage of diseasesand a better comprehension of clinical data are important. Topromote this paradigm shift, we construct a prototype of amedical diagnosis system that supports not only counselors butalso clients. Our system is implemented as a web server linked to the public network so counselors and clients can easily access thesystem from remote clinics and even private homes. Its user-friendlyinterface allows clients to comprehend the clinical dataeven without the counselors support. Subjective evaluationsusing the SD method show that our system is superior to printedmaterial and receives high scores for favorability andfunctionality.
