A Shockable Rhythm Detection Algorithm Using Slope Variability
The algorithm that can discriminate shockable(ShR) and nonshockable(NShR) rhythm automatically, accurately and timely is critical for Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs). In this paper, an algorithm based on slope variability is proposed. The algorithm was validated by the CU Database, MIT Database and the files 7001-8210 of the AHA Database, and was evaluated by five parameters: the sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, IROC, and computational time. The result shows that this algorithm is more effective and faster than some earlier algorithms for AEDs.
