A New Algorithm For Detection Motion Rate Based on Energy in Frequency Domain Using UWB Signals
The goal of this paper is to design and evaluate a new practical algorithm for wireless detection of human respiration rate behind an obstacle using UWB signals. First, a motion phantom is designed for simulating chest cavity motion which the frequency and range of its motion are fully controlled by user. Then, Experiments are carried on the phantom by a 3.2 GHz Ultra Wide-Band (UWB) transceiver. Using a new algorithm the motion rate of phantom was detected behind and obstacle. The results show an accuracy of 98% for detecting periodic movement of motion phantom. The speed of algorithms is evaluated for hardware implementation. The result shows the capability of this algorithm for using in on-line applications.
