Study on the Mechanism of Resisting Exercise Fatigue of Epimedium Flavones

This paper mainly studies the anti-fatigue function and the mechanism of Epimedium flavones. The changes of the relative laboratory parameters in exercise fatigue were observed and the mechanism of resisting exercise fatigue of Epimedium flavones was discussed by using loaded swimming experiment of mice. The main contents are as follows: (1) Studying the effects of Epimedium flavones on the body weight changes of mice; (2) Confirming the effects of Epimedium flavones on the time of mouse loaded swimming; (3) Detecting the effects of Epimedium flavones on the clearance of creatinine and urea nitrogen in serum of experimental animals; (4) Determining the inhibition effect of Epimedium flavones on the concentration of malondialdehyde (MDA) in mouse liver tissue and the elimination effect on the hydroxyl radical (·OH). The results show that treatment by Epimedium flavones is able to prolong the time of mouse loaded swimming, and decreases the creatinine and urea nitrogen level in serum significantly. Epimedium flavones inhibit the MDA production in liver tissues of mice, and eliminate the hydroxyl radical in vitro. It can be concluded that Epimedium flavones can resist exercise fatigue obviously, which might be related to its effect on eliminating hydroxyl radicals.
