Effects of Aroclor 1248 on the survival and oxidative stress in Boleophthalmus pectinirostris
B. pectinirostris were exposed to 10 or 100μg/L of Aroclor 1248 for 28 days, and the lipid peroxidation and antioxidant systems (SOD, CAT, GST, GPx, GR activities and t-GSH level) were investigated in whole organisms. The results showed that exposure to 10μg/L Aroclor 1248 did not impact on the survival, however, the survival percentage of B. pectinirostris exposed to 100 μ g/L of Aroclor 1248 was only 57.2±3.4%. Exposure to 100μg /L of Aroclor 1248 induced a significant (p<0.05) increase of GPx activity and MDA content when compared to controls 0 and DMSO, and exposure to 10μg /L of Aroclor 1248 induced a significant (p<0.05) increase of SOD and GST activity when compared to controls 0 and DMSO. Both CAT activity and GR activity had no significantly difference when exposed to 10 and 100μg/L Aroclor 1248, but both of them increased than the controls.
