Three-dimensional Reconstruction and Numerical Simulation of Blood Flow in Human Thoracic Aortic
Three-dimensional mathematics model of the human thoracic aortic is reconstructed from CT images, and analyzed detailedly from the view points of the blood flow pressure and velocity by making use of finite element methods. Numerical results show that a pressure gradient is extremely obvious in the interface of branch aortic and aortic arch. Moreover, it is found that the blood velocity of branch aortics distal end in the above area is evidently faster than that of proximal end, which is just the area where thoracic aortic dissection frequently happens from clinical observation.
