Enhanced Scrubbing Aerosol of Cooking Fumes with Bio-Slurry

Experiments were carried out to scrub cooking fumes using by clean water and by bio-slurry, and the effects on the removal rate of cooking oil and particles were studied. The results showed that the scrubbing effect of cooking fumes was the best when the bio-slurry concentration was 1.2 g/L. The particle sizes of fumes reduced from 0.2~62 μm to 0.2~5 μm, and compared with clean water washed, the efficiency of the purification of fumes significantly improves from 65% to about 87%. Bio-slurry can reduce the concentration of cooking fume in the liquid phase by sedimentation and microbial degradation, make it decrease from 20 mg /L to 3 mg /L.
