Speciation Analysis of Heavy Metals of Core Huoshaohei Sediments
The potential hazard of contamination directly depends on the presence and concentrations of mobile and biologically available element species. The mobility and availability of elements are known to depend on the chemical species of elements and the type of their bonding with the soil matrix. A three-step sequential extraction procedure (BCR-SEP) was used to determine the concentration of heavy metal speciation forms in soil. In this work, the BCR three-stage sequential extraction procedure was applied to the core sediments of Huoshaohei Lake. The results of the partitioning study indicated that in the core HSH sediments, Cr, Cu, Ni, and Zn mainly are mainly associated with the residue fraction, Mn is mainly concentrated in the exchangeable-carbonate fractions, fractions and organic-sulfide fraction. Zn is concentrated in organic-sulfide fraction.
