Degradation of Polyacrylamide by Using A Novel Heterogeneous Catalyst in Fenton-like System
Degradation of polyacrylamide(PAM) in aqueous solution was studied by using Fe2O3/Al2O3 or Fe2O3/carbon as heterogeneous catalyst in the presence of H2O2. In order to improve the catalytic activity, Effects of catalyst preparation conditions as impregnated materials, acid dipping and adding trace elements to catalyst activity were studied in the experiment. It was observed that Compared with Fe2(SO4)3, the Fe(Ⅲ) catalyst prepared with Fe(NO3)3 as the impregnated material showed better catalyst activity. The Fe2O3/Al2O3 and Fe2O3/carbon catalysts prepared with Acid immersion showed different catalyst activity, the former greatly increase the Catalytic degradation of PAM, In the present of 2.0g/L modified Fe2O3/Al2O3 catalyst and 0.6g/L H2O2, the best degradation ratio of M rates up to 97.9%. In addition, it was also found that The Fe2O3/Al2O3 and Fe2O3/carbon catalysts containing trace elements Cu both showed higher catalyst activity.
