Methyl orange degradation on TiO2-FeZSM-5 composite photocatalyst
The photocatalytic oxidation of methyl orange(MO) on commercial TiO2 nano-particles could be successfully enhanced by simple mechanical mixing with Fe3+modified ZSM-5 zeolites (FeZSM-5). When a mixture of TiO2 and FeZSM-5 (TiO2:FeZSM-5 ratio=1:5) was added into the solution, methyl orange removal rate was 58.9% after 30 min of irradiation, which increased 22% compared with using TiO2 alone. However, the photocatalytic activity of TiO2-FeZSM-5 composite photocatalyst with TiO2:FeZSM-5 ratio from 10:1 to 1:30 prepared by solid state dispersion method decreased obviously.
