Effects of salinity and humic acid on di-n-butyl phthalate adsorption by granular activated carbon
The effects of salinity and humic acid (HA) on di-n-butyl phthalate (DBP) adsorption by nutshell-based activated carbon were studied by batch experiments in this paper. Adsorption kinetics was evaluated. The kinetic curves were almost the same both in the presence and absence of NaCl, and second time adsorption occurred in the presence of HA. Three kinetic models, pseudo-firstorder, pseudo-second-order and intraparticle diffusion, were used to analyze the kinetic data. The results revealed that pseudo-first-order and intraparticle diffusion models were agreeable well with kinetic data both in the presence and absence of NaCl and HA.
