Preparation of Fe3O4/TiO2 and its Photocatalytic Performance

Aimed at the problem solving of difficult reclaiming nanometer TiO2, the paper conducts a study on magnetic recovering by a series of experiments. Firstly, taking methylene blue as the object, the test compares the photocatalytic performance between self-manufactured TiO2 and commercial TiO2 after 160 minutes photocatalytic degradation. The results show that their degradation rates are 94% and 99% respectively, which indicates the photocatalytic performance of selfmanufactured TiO2 is feasible. Secondly, the test prepares Fe3O4 magnetic nucleus adopting titration-hydrolysis method, use them to magnetize the photocatalytic material self-manufactured TiO2, and then verifies the magnetism of self-manufactured TiO2. The result manifests that self-manufactured TiO2 possesses great magnetism and can be reclaimed effectively with magnetic separation technique. However, after undergoing 160 minutes photocatalytic degradation, its degradation rate is only 32.68%, which denotes that its photocatalytic degradation performance is low.
