Study on the Variation Trend of Water Resources in Zhang River

In this research, Mann-Kendall test was utilized in the trend test and abrupt change test of annual runoffs from 1956 to 2007 recorded in Houbi hydrological station in Zhuozhang River and Kuangmenkou hydrological station in Qingzhang River. Significant decrease in annual runoffs in both stations was detected, and the abruption point appeared in 1977. Through analysis, it was found the reasons for the decay of water resources were mainly the change of runoff yield mechanism in upstream shed, decrease of precipitation and increase of water consumption. Considering the influences of climate change and human activities on water resources, inflow water volumes in high flow year, normal flow year and low flow year of the two stations were evaluated, which provided scientific basis for the equitable and rational distribution of water resources in the upstream of Zhang River.
